Rodrigo Cienfuegos

Doctor and master’s degree in Earth Sciences from the University of Grenoble (France), and Civil Hydraulic Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He develops research in coastal processes, wave hydrodynamics and tsunamis, and associated risk assessment. Since 2014 he has been director of the FONDAP CIGIDEN Center of Excellence. He is also involved with the Marine Energy Research Center (MERIC) as a UC researcher.
